Tall grasses such as Calamagrostis ‘Karl forster’ and the elegant sprays of the verbena bonariensis give height and softeness.
The clients wanted the wow factor and a garden with fun design elements to keep it exciting and unique to them. The idea was to focus on a strong framework but with plenty of planting to soften the design. The clients wanted the planting to feel colourful, including purples for her beloved mum and blues, pinks and whites but also some evergreens and seasonal interest so that the garden gives year round interest from inside and outside the house.
It is a flexible space that feels cosy for the four of them as a family but can also accommodate larger groups as the family love to entertain both friends and family. The fire pit, the dining area that extends when friends arrive, the little star gazing platform above the container, even the steps from the back of the house give the family lots of different seating options.
