A Space To Suit Everyone’s Needs

A double life – both elegant and grown up.

This project is all about dual function – the challenge was to create a garden with elegance and grown up charm while still delivering a space that was fun for three young kids to expend lots of energy in. The pergola, while framing the view also formed a climbing frame including monkey bars, swing seats, and climbing holds. It was also important to create something future-proof and I did this by using elements such as the trampoline area (hidden from the view from main terrace) that can later be transformed into a lounging area for teenagers so that they have their own space.

 This family has more garden toys for kids than I have ever seen :) but the new design allows them to play cricket, kick a football at a goal, climb, swing, bounce, but when that’s done and the toys go back in the garage it becomes an elegant grown up garden with soft white and pastel toned planting scheme, privacy from the neighbours through the use of the pleached hedging and clean lines making the garden easy to maintain for the busy parents of three.
