The process of designing my garden was wonderfully collaborative and fun. Sacha was really open to my ideas but had a great vision for the garden and took my ideas and made them bloom!”

A sleek contemporary garden for a creative family

The garden was a higgledy-piggledy mess that hadn’t been touched since the eighties, lots of different levels and spaces that were too small for purpose. I wanted to simplify the levels and give each zone a defined function. The clients were excited for us to put in a corten steel staircase. Its rich russet tones play beautifully against the charcoal painted walls and the bright lime of Lysimachia Nummularia, giving the family a lovely view to see out of the kitchen windows.

The garden has a beautiful hardwood bench with bespoke cushions, giving the clients a relaxed space to sit around the fire pit with guests, as well as somewhere to store the wood underneath. The upper level gives plenty of space for dining table and chairs, while the middle level gives them an area for a sun lounger or two. The dramatic pink wall is very much reflective of the eclectic colourful style of the clients’ interior and the beautiful purple parasol from Bali makes for a gorgeous contrast.
